CMA CGM Revises FAK Rates on Three Key Trade Lanes Effective Mid-August 2026

CMA CGM has officially announced revised Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for three key international service routes. The new tariffs will take effect on 15 August 2026 and will remain valid until further notice.

Indian Subcontinent to Central America, the Caribbean, and the West Coast of South America

The revised FAK rates apply to export shipments from the Indian Subcontinent to Central America, the Caribbean, and the West Coast of South America, with rates differentiated by destination port group.

For cargo destined for Buenaventura, San Antonio, Callao, and Guayaquil, the applicable freight rate is USD 8,500 per 20-foot and 40-foot container.

Meanwhile, shipments to La Guaira and Puerto Cabello will be subject to higher rates of USD 10,350 per 20-foot container and USD 10,750 per 40-foot container.

Red Sea to Europe and North Africa

CMA CGM has also revised its FAK rates for cargo moving from the Red Sea to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa.

Under the new tariff schedule:

●    USD 5,400 per container for shipments to Northern Europe.

●    USD 5,500 per container for shipments to the Mediterranean.

●    USD 6,200 per container for shipments to North Africa.

The carrier noted that these rates apply only to dry cargo and are based on the vessel sailing date from the port of loading.

India and South Asia to Europe and North Africa

For export cargo originating from Northwest India, Southeast India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan and destined for Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa, CMA CGM has introduced the following FAK rates:

●    USD 7,500 per container for shipments to Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.

●    USD 8,500 per container for shipments to North Africa.

FAK Rates and Applicable Surcharges

In its advisory, CMA CGM clarified that the published FAK rates include the basic ocean freight as well as bunker-related surcharges.

However, shippers should note that the rates do not include Terminal Handling Charges (THC), safety and security surcharges, or other applicable local charges, which may be imposed in accordance with the regulations and requirements of individual ports.
