Cargo losses from Madrid Bridge could be up to 140 containers

ONE (Ocean Network Express) has confirmed that about 60 containers were lost from the vessel and another 80 were damaged in the container collapse on board the Madrid Bridge last Friday.
According to AIS data on VesselsValue, the 13,900 teu vessel, belonging to the EC4 service of shipping line ONE, sailing from Asia to the east coast of the United States, experienced a container collapse in the mid-Atlantic and is currently moving at a speed of 19 knots.
The Madrid Bridge sailed south, and now northeast of the Caribbean, to avoid a storm, originally believed to be heading for New York.
ONE confirmed: “Based on initial investigations, it is estimated that approximately 60 units were overboard, and 80 units were damaged. The numbers may be updated after further investigations.”
Shipping line ONE added: “The vessel is currently proceeding towards the east coast of the United States and, if all goes well, will be calling in Charleston for a detailed assessment of the vessel condition and to discharge the affected containers.”
